<b>multimode</b>: An <i>R</i> Package for Mode Assessment

In several applied fields, multimodality assessment is a crucial task as previous exploratory tool or for determining the suitability of certain distributions. The goal this paper to present utilities R package multimode, which collects different and testing non-parametric approaches number modes their estimated location. Specifically, some graphical tools (SiZer map, mode tree forest) are provided, allowing identification patterns, based on kernel density estimation. Several formal procedures described in implemented multimode package, including methods ideas critical bandwidth, excess mass using combination both. This also includes function estimating locations classical data examples that have been considered literature.
